OBS Actions

OBS Actions change OBS when something happens on stream: switch a scene after a raid, show a source for a sub, mute your mic with a channel point reward. Set them up under Integrations > OBS Actions.

How it connects

Fishrift runs in the cloud and can't reach OBS on your computer. Your Fishrift overlay inside OBS does it instead: it connects to OBS's own WebSocket server.

  1. In OBS (version 28 or newer), open Tools > WebSocket Server Settings and tick Enable WebSocket server.
  2. Press Show Connect Info and copy the password.
  3. On the OBS Actions page, press the connection button, turn OBS Actions on and paste the password. Keep the host at 127.0.0.1 and the port at 4455.
  4. Keep at least one Fishrift overlay open in OBS as a Browser Source.

The page shows whether an overlay is connected, your OBS version, and a log of the last 15 runs with the result of every step.

Note: when several overlays are open, only one of them runs each action, so a scene never switches twice.

Steps

An action is a list of up to 30 steps:

StepWhat it does
Switch sceneChanges the current scene
SourceShows, hides or toggles a source in a scene
FilterTurns a filter on, off or toggles it
AudioMutes, unmutes or toggles an audio input
WaitWaits a number of milliseconds, up to 10 minutes

Step groups

Put steps in a group and choose how it runs: all in order, one at random, or all in a random order. Groups are one level deep.

Triggers

Each action can have up to 20 triggers. A trigger can be limited to one platform and to an amount between a minimum and maximum.

Organising

  • Put actions in groups (folders) and drag them in order.
  • Switch an action on or off.
  • Give it a cooldown of up to 24 hours.
  • Press the play button to test it.

You can also run actions from a channel point reward or your Stream Deck.
