Chatbot overview
The Fishrift bot runs in your chat on Twitch, Kick and YouTube at the same time. It answers commands, posts timers, runs giveaways and song requests, keeps track of loyalty points and protects your chat from spam.
Turning the bot on
Open Bot in the dashboard and switch the bot on. The bot needs your Twitch account to be connected, and it joins your Twitch channel. The status shows ONLINE, CONNECTING or OFFLINE.
| Platform | What works |
|---|---|
| Twitch | Reads and writes chat |
| Kick | Reads and writes chat once Kick is connected. If you see "Connected, not ingesting", reconnect Kick |
| YouTube | Reads and writes chat while you are live |
Mute and part
- Mute makes the bot listen only. Viewers still earn points, giveaway entries still count and spam filters still detect, but the bot sends nothing and takes no moderation action. Mods can also type
!bot muteand!bot unmute. - Part makes the bot leave your channel. Type
!bot part, or switch the bot off in the dashboard. Switch it back on from the dashboard.
How a chat message is handled
Fishrift checks every chat message in this order:
- Spam filters run first. A removed message is never treated as a command.
- The viewer earns chat points (once per minute by default).
- Fishrift works out the viewer's permission level.
- Viewers on your Banned from bot list stop here.
- Modules like Song Requests and Raffle get the message first.
- Rift of Fortune entries are checked when a wheel is open.
- Then commands, both your own and the built-ins.
- Last, OBS Actions with a chat command trigger and Streamer.bot mappings for bot commands.
The command prefix
Commands start with ! by default. You can change the prefix in Bot > Settings (up to 3 characters).
